About ME
I am a Nigerian artist, born in Dublin, Ireland and currently based in Atlanta. My work is deeply rooted in the representation of Nigerian culture, both modern and traditional, using portraiture to celebrate the people, customs, and stories that define us. Through bold colors, intricate patterns, and expressive compositions, I aim to capture the essence of my heritage and bring visibility to narratives that have been overlooked.
Growing up, I realised how much of our history was either erased or untold. The education I received did not reflect the richness of my culture or the depth of our contributions to the world. This absence fueled my desire to create, to document the stories that were never taught, and to be the representation I once searched for. Every piece I make is a step toward reclaiming history, ensuring that future generations see themselves in art, in books, and in the broader cultural conversation.
My goal is not just to create paintings but to leave a legacy. I want my work to be a part of the history that is written, studied, and remembered. I want Africans to see themselves in spaces they were once excluded from, and I want the world to recognize the beauty, complexity, and resilience of our people. Through my art, I am telling our stories—on our own terms, with our own voices.
